SUMMARY:Kata Seminar with Olympic Silver Medallist\, Kiyou Shimizu – March 16 & 17\, 2024
DESCRIPTION:Reisky Martial Arts and Fitness is once again offering a great opportunity to train and learn from a world-class athlete. Kiyou Shimizu\, one of the top female kata athletes in the world\, is coming to Vancouver in March 2024 to conduct an all-styles kata seminar. Ms. Shimizu is an Olympic Silver Medallist\, 3-time Asian Games Champion\, 2-time World Karate Champion\, and a World Games Champion.
 
This seminar is open to all styles of karate. Kiyou will be teaching drills and techniques that will improve kata performance.  Whether you are preparing for the next tournament such as Karate BC’s Provincials in April\, the National Championships in July\, or trying out for the Provincial Team\, this is an excellent opportunity to take advantage of high-caliber kata training.
 
The highlight of the seminar is on the second day. Participants will have the opportunity to perform a kata in front of Kiyou and receive feedback. DESCRIPTION:CANADIAN WADO KAI TECHNICAL COMMITTEE MEMBERS NEILL HUDSON AND SIMON RAYBOULD\n\n\n\nNeill and Simon are looking forward to delivering the 2024 Eastern Technical Seminar on November 23rd. The seminar will be at the Jean-de-Brébeuf school where we were 3 years ago\, 360 Bd de Lucerne\,  Gatineau QC.\n\n\n\nThe seminar will providing an interesting agenda for all levels and ages\, focusing on moving from the core\, improving kata\, and tips and techniques for free-fighting. The final session of the day will be a focus on instructors and those vying for their dan test next May\, and competing in Japan in August. The afternoon portion will be for intermediate and up students\, red belt and higher.\n\n\n\nIt is recommended that participants bring their personal lunch as one will not be provided. Water bottles will be provided\, but folks are welcome to bring their own (especially if they like sports drinks).\n\n\n\nStudents should bring their fighting gear\, and their CZ passports.\n\nFees: $15 for the morning; $30 all-day; $20 afternoon only. Fees should be paid by eTransfer\, to this email: karateduplateau@outlook.com. Please use the security code: karate (no accents). DESCRIPTION:Technical Seminar in Gatineau\, Quebec Canada at the GRAND HÉRON SCHOOL. \nThe event will run from 9:30 am – 3:30 pm on Saturday October 18.  It will be held at Grand Héron School .  The event will be open to all ages and levels\, but it is recommended that participants have at least 1-year of training experience.\n\nThe cost will be $25/person. This is without lunch. Lunch could be organized with (sandwiches and drinks)\, however the cost will be adjusted accordingly. Let the organizers know what works best for you.\n\nFor those travelling a long way help can be provided with accommodations\, and organized homestays for those interested. DESCRIPTION:Hello Friends\,\n\nKarate Du Plateau will be hosting a technical seminar on Saturday 18\, April in Gatineau\, QC. The seminar will be at the same school that was used last October.\n\nNorma Foster and Simon Raybould will be leading the session. It is open to all members\, but it is recommended that students have at least a basic grasp of terminology and dojo etiquette (yellow belt?).\n\nNorma will offer focused training to brown and black belts\, and Simon Raybould will work with colour belts. Subject material will focus on our curriculum:  kihon waza\, kata\, kihon kumite and sparring. Participants are welcome to request specific areas of focus that they would like to see on the day – Please let me know by March 7.\n\nPlease advise as early as possible if any accommodations are required.
