Other Information

Since 2001 the Kenzen Family Karate Club has been practicing at the University of Lethbridge.

The focus of the Kenzen Family Karate Club is on traditional karate practice.  Instruction and evaluation of traditional Wado-ryu karate follows the syllabus developed by the Canadian ZenKuRen Wado Karate Association.  Integration of the Karate Canada Long Term Athletic Development (LTAD) model is followed closely to ensure that the athletic potential of each individual karate athlete is appropriately met. Fitness, flexibility, strength, power and awareness are key elements of this group’s karate training. The Kenzen Family Karate Club is an important member of the Karate Alberta Association and Karate Canada.  These bodies help to develop and regulate the sport of karate in Alberta and in Canada.  Karate Alberta and Karate Canada are the two bodies that receive government support and recognition.
